Louis XVI was born to Louis, Dauphin of France, and the Dauphiness, Marie Josephe of Saxony on August 23, 1754. Young Louis received some of the finest education France had to offer. However, the spoiled brat preferred to spend his time on hobbies, such as hunting and making locks. Perhaps his highest honor was his skill as a locksmith. His father died in 165, his mother, two years later in 1767. Louis XVI then married Marie Antoinette of

As the years passed, Louis XVI learned how to rule better through trial and error. Then he began to make some changes. He got smarter, and realized that he should be reaching out to the peasants and serfs, who made up 75% of the population, thus proving that France truly is/was a ghetto, and an unruly one at that. When the monarchy was abolished, he saw it as something that would help his country. All of his actions were for one, singular purpose: to please his people and prevent the French Revolution, which eventually lead to his own demise. He also allowed serfs to pass on their land to anyone they chose to. Previously, the land had to be passed on to their children. Abolition of feudalism gave the peasants in France more freedom. The actions of Louis XVI and the National Assembly were done to please the majority of the French people: the peasants and serfs.

Louis XVI's job as the King of France (1774-1793) during and before the French Revolution was understandably not an easy one. The abolition of feudalism was also a much needed alteration. Such actions almost remind you of our current president, Slick Willie. He may have committed some horrible deeds, but he was devoted to the rise and improvement of his country. Then came the fall of the monarchy and eventually the death of the Louis. As it turned out, Louis overdid his role as the king, which was the cause for his downfall. He was blind in not realizing that the fall of the monarchy was a needed improvement to the people of France, but would mean his own and utter downfall.
