Miracles of the Bible
What are miracles? A miracle may be defined as a concrete breakthrough from the invisible, supernatural world into our own visible, natural world. The ultimate source of the miracle is when the creator, God, created the Universe and dwells above us. He is transcendent, yet he is free at any time to enter into our world and within each of us. To understand miracles, one must understand God. You have to believe in his existence and his interest in each one of our lives; but most important relationships with him. This relationship arises within a part of your heart to full commitment with the Lord. It seems as though people today feel comfortable with the world they live in and don't want to go that extra step in accommodating the thought of the supernatural or God. But the longer we live the more we start realizing that the natural world has little permanence and that one true reality of eternity is that found in the invisible world of God. This is the world of miracles. Sooner or later we start realizing that God has the power to provide to those that believe in him with the power to do extraordinary things. With the supernatural phenomenon rage today, it is imperative that the distinction
One of the first miracles is when God called upon Moses. One day while Moses was taking care of the sheep and goats of his father-in-law, Jethro; he led the flock across the desert to Sinai, the holy mountain. In front of him he saw an image of an angel. This image was in the middle of a burning bush. The strange thing was the angel was not burning up. This was an angel of the Lord. Moses started walking towards the bush. God told him not to come any closer and for him to take off his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. Moses was then told that he was going to be the one to rescue the people from Egypt. He was to tell the Israelites that God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has sent him there in response to the cry out to be rescued from the cruelty of the Egyptians. Jesus made all the people sit down on the grass nearby. Jesus took the little bit of bread, gave thanks to God, and distributed it to all the men sitting on the grass. He did the same with the fish. All the people had plenty to eat. In fact, they had more than they could eat. The disciples gathered the leftovers and filled twelve baskets. Jesus did not want to waste any food. God's miracles are not against nature, but in perfect harmony with his creation. This was achieved through the use of plagues against the Egyptians, which they brought great blessings to the Israelites. They brought great suffering to the Egyptians. This miracle tells two things about God: He is holy, for judging oppressors of men and idolaters; and that he is compassionate, for discrediting the heathen gods, he sought to win to himself those who were guilty of those offences. There are several stories of the great miracles performed by God in the Old Testament. Likewise, in the New Testament. The remaining stories are from the New Testament performed by Jesus Christ, Son of God. of the old and New Testament miracles be understood. God's genuine miracles for prominence in this later half of the 20th century mysticism threatens to override the ethical tenants of Christianity. Modern mystics think of miracles as something to be had on demand and to be expected as everyday occurrences. Another miracle of the bible performed by Jesus Christ was the turning of water to wine. Jesus and his disciples had been invited to a wedding in Cana. Jesus' mother was also there. When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother told Jesus that they had run out of wine. Jesus' response to his mother was for her not to tell him what to do and that it was not time. Jonah was spoken to from God. He was told to go to Nenevah, the great city, and speak against it. There the people were wicked and this caused Jonah to go into the other directions. He wanted to get away from the Lord. Jonah ended up on a ship to Spain. But the Lord sent out a very strong wind on the sea. The storm was so violent there was fear that the ship would break up. All the sailors were praying to their gods. Jonah was found sleeping on the bottom of the ship. He was awakened and asked whey he was not praying to his God. Jonah explained that he was running from his Lord. Jonah felt that it was his Lord making this terrible storm. And begged the sailors to throw him overboard so that the terrible storm would stop. God has performed many miracles and I am going to re-i
