the ideal form of communication in schools

In the May 1998 addition of Young Children, there was an interesting article that discussed how

language is an essential part of a child's communication. Children who have good communication skills ,

whether it be listening or speaking, tend to develop essential learning and literacy skills. The type of

communication predominantly discussed is language.

Language, is the key to a child's learning in school. Language can be written or presented orally,

both adequate forms of communication. Children are encouraged to communicate through language, not

only for expansion of vocabulary, and learning letter sounds, but also for interaction among their peers. Not

only will the usage of language overall help students learn this common language, but also it will help detect

at an early age, language problems on academic success and social interaction.

A problem in many classrooms today is the diversity with in it. There is no one particular way a

teacher should deal with such differences,
