The confusion over what is real and what is not comes in to play under the dream factor in this novel. One may think that what is going on in a dream could in fact be reality and feel total justification for even the most ludicrous of dream scenarios. At times in the novel, it is unclear to the reader if Orr is in fact dreaming only when it states in writing that he is, or if perhaps, we are actually reading his dream in its entirety. There is also the possibility that he is dreaming the whole time but is so convinced by his dreaming that he believes he is awake.

Dr. Haber's character is important for us all to remember when we feel like taking on the world for better or for worse. On person can in fact make a difference and we do every day with out even noticing it. When we litter even the tiniest piece of paper or use excessive electricity, we are unintentionally changing the future of our environment. We need to start with little changes before we tackle the world as a whole. If these little inflictions of pollution to the world can make such a big difference, it only proves that attempting to save the world in a day could result in disaster.
