The Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitlet
A detailed Summary of The Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitlet
I read The Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitler for my book review. It was a very interesting book for an insane individual to be the main subject of a biography. The book is written with the first hand and researched information from William L. Shirer. Will is also the author of this small, one hundred and eighty-two paged book (this is not including the index-with the index, it would be one hundred and eighty-eight pages). The book has a copyright date of August 1961, which means it is very old. That is pretty good considering that the information is closer to the date in which the situation involving Hitler rose. The book is published by Scholastic Book Services (now known as just Scholastic) and was first offered at thirty-five cents. This book was a very interesting and I would recommend it to anyone interested in American or foreign history.
Hitler was born April 20, 1889 and raised by his mother and his father whom was an official customs worker for the Austrian government. When he was younger, he was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which is now present-day Austria. At this time Austria was very important to Europe. In this book, the author's main objective was to let there be a better understanding of Hitler instead of the regular "nut-case" classification. Following Hitler all his life, William had first person, accurate details. He qualified as a great follower of Hitler's speeches. Fortunately, the author doesn't give any bias. You can tell that he doesn't approve of everything Hitler did but still respected him. It doesn't seem as though the author had much research but actually heard Hitler many times and followed him on his journey. One of the major strengths in the book was the fact that he was there. Just by knowing that, you know that the information is true. I'd say the author wants us to think different about Adolf Hitler. Not just call him a maniac. Overall, I 'd rank this book in the ton ten- percent.
ts later. Hitler split up Poland and proceeded on to take Norway and Denmark in 1940. By now, Germany occupied almost all of Europe except for England. Then, Hitler made his dumbest move...he took on the Soviet Union. At the time, winter had hit and all the Nazi's froze as the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor. Even though the Germans couldn't hold out, the Russians still took a high toll. Hitler's success was ending.
He released his book when he got out of prison a year later. The book was supposed to be called Four and a Half Years of Struggle against Lies, Stupidity, and Cowardice but was considered too long so it was changed to Mein Kampf (My Struggle). The book was a success and warned everyone. The
