god vs. schience

"...why it is that we and the universe exists. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason- for then we would know the mind of God." (Hawking 185). The debate between whether or not we were created by some Supreme Being or life itself happened by chance is a very controversial topic that has left many unanswered questions about both sides.

In the beginning, something happened. Either God created heaven and earth or for some unknown reason, the world exploded in a "big bang" and all matter started to form. For the past 100 years, the argument in western society revolved around the conflict between science and religion over the theory of evolutions.

Many of the people that have such strong faith in the Bible and its teachings on creation are seeking some sort of scientific evidence to disprove the theory of evolution. Although there is plenty of evidence that shows adaptive changes in a species, we do not, in recorded history, have evidence of one type of animal changing into another type of animal, like evolution suggests.

This debate has not only effected the general public, but our school systems as well, because right now, teachers at Madison High School are debating the proposition

ah, but just a normal, imperfect human being non-the-less. There is no salvation from sin since there is no God who is offended by our sinning. Science should be naturalistic or atheistic by definition. There is no ultimate purpose for man who is merely a chance product of the eternal cosmos.

The Bible teaches 10 main ideas and they are that there is one true God-infinite, personal, and triune. God created the universe by his spoken word in six days (Although some creationists argue the six days as to weather it was six days in our time or six days in God's time, which could have been millions of years). The Bible is the divinely inspired and irreverent word of God. Man has a spirit because he is created in God's image. Death brings eternal life with God or eternal separation from God. Morality is absolute and based on the character and revelation of God. Jesus is God incarnate- the virgin born, atoning savior and returning someday to judge all of humanity. Salvation is found through personal faith in Jesus Christ. Science should begin with a theistic assumption. The ultimate purpose of man is to know God personally, to glorify Him, and to live with Him forever in heaven.

One idea of evolution is the decent that humans came from a common non-human ancestor, which means that evolution, teaches that humans have evolved from some other species. Another idea is that of Darwin's survival of the fittest, which meant that evolution, also shows that in a certain species only the strongest and best adapted species will survive while the weaker ones eventually die out. Yet another idea insists that scientific exploration is the basis for truth, which means that instead of just having faith in the Bible people will only believe what can be proved or they will not believe in it at all. A nation wide poll taken in November of 1991 by the Gallup Organization asked different types of people three different types of questions about certain beliefs that they had. The first, which asked how people felt on a strict creationist's view, or that God, created man in his present state within the last 10,000 years. 43 percent of American's believe this, 39 percen!
