Intelligence
They say that age is a mark of intelligence and with time you will gather experiences that will create your life. In my life, as short as it may be, I have been fortunate enough to go through the experiences that make up a typical teenager. Thinking back to how my life began and seeing where I am now, it seems that the paths I have chosen to take are that of some intelligence. My interpretation of intelligence may be different from that of another's, but I believe it to be an accurate definition. Not only being "book smart" gets you somewhere in life, it is how you apply your own knowledge and common sense to it.My experiences growing up were not as easy as other people think. Throughout my life, there were many right and wrong paths that I had to go down to chose the right answer. Believe me, it wasn't so easy! If I chose the right path I would gain more confidence of myself, but if I chose the wrong path, I would lose that confidence in myself and then pay major consequences. Entering my teenage years had to be one of the hardest times that I've had to experience. "Pressure" was the number one thing that was being put on me as I began to experience, what they say is the best years of my life.
Another means of pressure besides that experienced by friends is that of your own family. Parents today only know what they want for us, and that is to "Succeed". They don't understand how hard it is to get to their high standard of succession. From Writing papers, doing projects, to taking tests, it is the hardest part of anyone's learning achievement. As time goes on throughout their learning process the pressure that has been put upon one's self turns into out of control problems. My intelligence level has increased by a vast majority and will increase endeavor after my four years are complete. Everything that was placed upon me in high school triples that upon me in college. The choices and paths that I decide to take pretty much affect the way my life is to become. My own intelligence has to look past what is being done and taken now, to what will and why happen in the years to come. Not everyone has such an easy time throughout their teenage years. Many kids give up after their first mistake or problem. "What they have, is a failure to communicate"(Newman 63). They don't have anyone to talk to or anyone to help them pick up the broken pieces. They believe they can handle it better by themselves, instead of the help of people who know and understand what they are going through. Depression is the worst case of one's self-setback. Due to a downfall or mistake it leads to the image of rejection. Not being able to proceed on, and living the dream that has always been wished for. Negligence is also another factor of depression. It expresses the downfall of one's mistake also, but takes a toll on life. It shows the beginning to neglecting everything that is most important to one's self and others. Depression and negligence influences the lives of others.
