Zeus

The Greek God I chose to research on is Zeus. Zeus is the god of the sky, god of justice and mercy, the protector of the weak, punisher of the wicked, and most importantly, ruler of the Olympian gods.

Zeus was considered, according to Homer, the father of the gods and of mortals. He did not create either gods or mortals; he was their father in the sense of being the protector and ruler both of the Olympian family and of the human race. He was lord of the sky, the rain god, and the cloud gatherer. Zeus armed himself with the terrible thunderbolt, whenever needed. His breastplate was the aegis, his bird the eagle, his tree the oak. Zeus presided over the gods on Mount Olympus in Thessaly (Thessalia). Zeus's image was represented in sculptural works as a kingly, bearded figure. His principal shrines were at Dodona, in Epirus, the land of the oak trees and the most ancient shrine at Olympia. This shrine is famous for its oracle; it was also the place where the Olympian games were celebrated in his honor every fourth year. The Nemean games, held at Nemea, northwest of Árgos, were also dedicated to Zeus.

Zeus was the youngest son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. He had a few very important siblings, which were the deities Posei

Beginning with the writings of the Greek poet Homer, Zeus is pictured in two very different ways. The nicer role is that he represented as the god of justice and mercy, the protector of the weak, and the punisher of the wicked. As husband to his sister Hera, he is the father of Ares, the god of war; Hebe, the goddess of youth; Hephaestus, the god of fire; and Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth. But, some men can't stay faithful. Zeus is described as falling in love with one woman after another and resorting to all kinds of tricks to hide his infidelity from his wife. Stories of his escapades were numerous in ancient mythology. His offspring, a grand total of 38, were a result of his love affairs with goddesses, a total of 9, and mortal women, and a number of 14. Zeus even gave birth to a child without a mother. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, sprang from his head. It is believed that with the development of a sense of ethics in Greek life, the idea of a lecherous, s!

A present day version of my god, that's not that hard. The first name that came into my mind was President Bill Clinton. They are almost identically the same, except for being the father of all gods and mortals and all that other godly stuff. Clinton is probably the most powerful political person in the world. Zeus was the most powerful god. The official seal of the President is the eagle. The bird of Zeus was the eagle. Clinton has two sides, a nice president and a cheating snot. Zeus also had two
