Society today, has many problems. In some cases youths have been getting blamed, for most crimes. Children are not being punished enough. In March 1999 the Young Offenders Act was made, a few months later changes were made. Why isn't the Young Offenders Act fit enough to fit today's youths? In spite of the changes made to the Young Offenders Act it still needs improvement to be more affective on youths. Changes like these could help youths stay out of trouble: The age for adult sentencing should be changed to 10 or 12, the parents should be punished, fined or arrested, and youths should be rehabilitated and let back into society. A youth by the age of 10 or 12 who commits a serious crime should be punished the same as an adult who commits the same crime. If a child who is smart enough to kill someone then they should pay the price. If youths ages of 10 to 12 aren't punished enough then they will keep committing crimes. Youths should learn
