The Outsiders
The Outsiders is a classic novel that teaches everyone who reads it that having a family that loves you is one of the most important things in life. This book is about Ponyboy Curtis, a confused 14-year-old, who is a member of a gang called The Greasers. The main conflict in this book is The Greasers and their rival gang, The Socials, are always getting into fights with each other. The Greasers despise The Socs due to their wealthy backgrounds; meanwhile all of The Greasers come from poor, abusive families and life styles. "Anyway, I went on walking home, thinking about the movie, and then suddenly wishing I had some company. Greasers can't walk ...It's like the term "greaser," which is used to class all us boys on the East Side. (pg.6)" This is the primary example about how The

They are able to fight off all of the Socs, but in order to do so, Johnny has to kill the leader of the Socs. Johnny is traumatized by this and does not know what to do. Eventually, Pony and Johnny get help and are told to go to an abandoned church until everything is "forgotten". Johnny was beaten by his father growing up.
