You will become familiar with its components and their functions. WHY: A. The compass is the most important navigational tool you will use as a cadet. B. To become proficient in navigation you should have a good knowledge and WHERE: A. You will use a compass as an aid to map reading, while orienteering, and during navigational exercises in the field.
