Macbeth was a victim of ambition resulting in his own madness. Macbeth was a well-respected man until his ambition to become king ended up driving him insane. Macbeth learned that the only way he could become king was to kill the existing king. After he killed the king he had to kill other people to keep his secret safe. The more he killed the less time he spent rationalizing his decisions. In his mind his ambition justified his actions. Macbeth's blind ambition, inability to stop killing and easily influenced mind resulted in his madness.

Macbeth's blinded ambition led him to madness because he did anything to become king. Macbeth was a respected man and was known for being a good fighter in war. He had no signs of madness at all. Macbeth and his friend Banquo came upon three witches who told Macbeth his fate was to be king. Macbeth took them very seriously, and produced a desire to become king. Macbeth's strong desire or his ambition led him to do evil things. Macbeth knew what he had to do to become king, he had t


o kill the king that was reigning now. He thought so long about killing the king that his mind went crazy. Before Macbeth killed the king a dagger appeared to him. At first he was not sure if the dagger was real or not. Macbeth saw this dagger because he was starting to feel unsure and his ambition to become king was taking over his mind. This hallucination was the start of Macbeth's madness. Macbeth was blinded by his ambition and he did not see that what he was doing was wrong.

Macbeth's inability to stop killing led him to madness because his ambition takes over his mind. Once Macbeth started to kill people he realized that he had to kill others. Someone always knew about the murder and he had to kill them, to keep his secret safe. As he killed more people he spent less time rationalizing his decision.
