In my opinion, the modern version of Romeo and Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann can in no way be compared to the classic version. Although the director's intentions were visible, the film itself was not what I would consider a good movie. The director's intentions seemed to try to take the original Romeo and Juliet and place them in modern times. Guns were used instead of swords and cars were used as transportation. The language however was not changed to modern times which more often then not made the film very difficult to unde
