I am Prometheus, God to mortals, and for this I have been punished, I am now bound in this empty place, merely for that title, to a rock surrounded by a vast ocean. My story is now told in a famous play, "Prometheus bound" by Aeschylus. Although historically a Zeus man Aeschylus, tells my side of the story well. At present I am bound to this rock surrounded by my friends who make up the chorus, they include: Oceanos, King Thamos, and even Hermes the messenger of my enemy and tormentor Zeus. The mortals who I have helped all these years wait upon earth thinking of me only in pity helpless, they are left to watch me at my lowest point.
