Disk Jockey's V.S. Television Anchors

In the world of broadcasting, there are two main areas that deal with being an "on air" person. In the radio business there are disk jockeys, and in the world of television there are anchors. These jobs are very similar in many ways, while on the other hand they also have many differences among them. Being a Telecommunications major I see these similarities and differences every day. I learn more and more each day on the art of being a television or radio personality, and in all that I learn, I realize now that there are more similarities and differences between the two than I ever expected.

When an individual pursues these careers with the desire to be the best that they can be is when they succeed in the career field that they choose. I hope that this paper has given you a better look at the field of broadcasting, use it wisely, and may God be with you on your pursuit.

Simple differences are the most noticeable in comparing radio disk jockey and television anchors. Take a look at the simplest difference, radio and television. Radio deals with hearing and the ability to imagine and picture what is going on, while television leaves no room for imagination by incorporating the sense of sight. Since television does allow people to actually see the person speaking on air, they must try and look better when at work. On the other hand, a disk jockey does not really have to worry about looking nice at work because he is in a booth all day where no one can see him while he is on the air. Ther
