Visit to Madrid
The Medieval city that I am visiting is Madrid. This city is located in Spain. The reason why I am visiting this particular city is because my husband, a devoted soccer player, has a soccer tournament in Madrid. After his tournament we will both go site seeing together. The tournament will only last approximately 7 days, or one week, but we will be staying for another week after that. We will be flying out of the Philadelphia airport, and will be arriving in a small airport in Madrid. It takes approximately 7 hours to get there. I have been doing research about the hotels and I have taken time and consideration into many things. We have decided that we are going to stay at the Abba Castilla Plaza. The especially interesting thing about it is the tomb of Archbishop Carvajal, which is made of alabaster. (From the 17th century) The Casa de la Panaderia, which is a very beautiful house with remarkable wall paintings. (From the 18th century) The Palacio Real, which is Madrid's royal palace. It is an impressive example of a Italian boroque style architecture. I happened to buy a book for my husband and I, in order for us to understand and comprehend the language of the Madrilenes. Most of the Madrilenes speak fluent Spanish. Their second language, if they happen to speak it would be English. Hopefully the book will help out throughout our trip, so that we may have a notable time visiting. Madrid is not just a cultural destination. It is also a lively metropolis with ma
