A detailed Summary of HipHop

First off, lets re-classify the genre of music known as rap. People that listen to or compose rap music preferably like to call it hiphop. Today rap is known as hiphop and that is how it will stay throughout the rest of its existence as music. Even though hiphop is usually associated with violence and profanity it does have a message or a story behind it. Hiphop can no longer be thought only as a sound of violence. Hiphop can be positive and good natured it all depends how the lyrics are taken.

Basically there are two types of hiphop; the first type is known as gangster rap and the second does not really have a name but it is a less violence-oriented type of hiphop. Gangster rap is what gave hiphop the bad name. It is the hiphop that constantly is talking about killing people and selling drugs to survive in the urban lifestyle. In addressing the profanity in hiphop there really is no explanation profanity is becoming a part of life. It is everywhere on tv, in any type of music, and all over the movies. Hiphop cannot be singled out for its profanity and violence because both are all over our society.

Hiphop is a brilliant means of stating how you feel and can have numerous ways of getting a point across. Many people use their talents of rhyming and creating beats to make money to find a better way of life. Without hiphop there would actually be more violence going on because people would be putting their efforts into illegal things instead of trying to make it on the billboard list.

Hiphop is also about getting a message across. Many songs produced are either backed behind a message or a story to get a point across. A man by the name of Guru from the group Gang Starr states repeatedly in his song Robin Ho
