Compare & Contrast
A detailed Summary of Compare & Contrast
Many people have different thoughts on the similarities and differences between high school and college. Some people say they both can be very alike, and others state that the two are quite different. I can tell you firsthand there may be some things they both have in common, but I would say for the most part the two are different in many ways. Some of the differences can include the amount of work, attitudes of teachers, and the importance of tests. These differences become very clear to new students because they still are used to the high school way of life. Many people may use these differences to form an opinion on which is better, personally I feel that college is the life that I prefer.
When I was in high school life was easy. Homework was almost non-existent, studying happened once a week and for only a few hours at a time. The teachers would pretty much do anything to help you pass the class. For example, one of my teachers told the class the first day that if we went to class everyday and did nothing he would still pass us w

When observing all these differences a person probably will wonder how there are any similarities. Although it may not seem like it the two are institutions of higher learning. You cannot go to college without a high school diploma. High school is the place you go to prepare for college, and though it may not seem like it a lot of things learned in high school will be shown to a student in college. A great example is that I would not be able to write this essay effectively if I did not receive my high school education.
Studying time in college will take up a majority of a student's time. You cannot study the night before to pass a test. The golden rule for studying is; " for every hour you put in to class, you should put in two hours outside of class." This statement is a per day statement, which means that you cannot put in twelve hours of studying in one night, but disperse the studying throughout the week.
Tests were given out three times a month, but they were not weighted heavily on the final grade. What that meant was if you bomb a test there will be many more to pick your grade up
