The Pigman
The Pigman is a compelling story that kept my attention throughout the whole book. This book, which is narrated through the first person point of view, is about two teenagers by the names of Lorraine and John, who live somewhere near Staten Island, New York. One day, Lorraine, John, and two other friends were playing a game where each of them had to call a complete stranger and try to keep them on the line as long as they could. When it was Lorraine's turn, she called a man by the name of Angelo Pignati. She started talking to him under the alias of a Miss Truman from the L&J Fund, a charity for young actors and writers. Loraine immediately noticed this person sounded very lonely and very happy to have someone to talk to. John then persuaded Lorraine to ask for a donation, and surprisingly, Mr. Pignati agreed to donate ten dollars and told them to come to his house to pick it up. Lorraine and John then go to pick up the money on the next day. They sat around, drank wine, and b!ecame quite gregarious towards each other. Over the next couple of months, John, Lorraine, and Mr. Pignati, or the "Pigman", did many things together such as go to the zoo, shopping, or just have fun at the Pigman's house. All this cavorting ended when Mr.
He agreed, but soon found out that his only other friend, Bobo the baboon, had died when he was in the hospital. Mr. Pignati is shocked and suffers from another heart attack and dies. Lorraine and John were speechless and dumbfounded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Pigman was one of the few books that I have enjoyed reading. This book also had a very good plot with well-developed characters along with unexpected twists and turns. The Pigman is a very good book and I would definitely recommend it to any of my peers. her, which is also how Scout is with Jem, Aunt Alexandra, and everyone else in the book. Scout tries to explain Jem's behavior changes, and Aunt Alexandra's personality all by detailed inferences. Lorraine, one of the main characters of the book, is alike and unlike Scout, from To Kill a Mockingbird, in many ways. First of all, both Scout and Lorraine are caring towards other people. Lorraine decided to keep visiting the pigman because she felt bad for him, and Scout just cares for everyone, especially Jem, Atticus, and Dill. Lorraine and Scout are also bo
