Dorothy's journey places her and her companions in many 'over the rainbow situations' involving everything form Munchkins to flying monkeys. She belives her quest is to get back to Kansas and Auntie Em. She is yet to see the journey of self discovery that lies ahead. "Oh, I'd give anything to get out of Oz altogether -- but which is the way back to Kansas? I can't go the way I came." Every encounter that Dorothy Gale has on her way home helps to uncover a little piece of her hearts desire.
Dorothy's journey just fell out of the sky. It begins somewhere over the rainbow and leads to Emerald city and eventually Kansas. According to the song she's somewhere over the rainbow. All she knows is that it's not Kansas. "...now I'm sure we're not in Kansas anymore Toto." The Good Witch of the North, Glinda, tells Doroth

Along the way Dorothy befriends a scarecrow, a tinman and a lion, each of them with a different void they would like the Wizard of Oz to fill. These brave troopers accept the fact that the Wicked Witch of the West is after Dorothy and she will destroy anything to avange her sisters death and attain her Ruby Slippers. The four pals and Toto travle under the watchful eye of the Witch "I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too." They are tormented with hardship after painstaking hardship, from flying monkeys to sleeping spells, but somehow good always pervails over evil.
