The Greenhouse Effect and Ozone Depletion are rapidly growing threats to the Earth. The Greenhouse Effect is when carbon dioxide levels rise causing more heat to be let in throwing off the ecosystem, and Ozone Depletion happens when chemicals in the air to break apart part of the Atmosphere which keeps out UV rays.
The main chemicals which are causing the Greenhouse effect are CO2(carbon dioxide?, N2O(nitrous oxide), and CH4(Methane). Small amounts of these chemicals help keep the heat in the air and atmosphere up. But when the chemical amounts rise so does the temperature of the air and Earth causing disruption in the plant ecosystem. The Chemicals causing Ozone Depletion come from man-made products and get trapped in the region of atmosphere called the Ozone Layer
Enhanced Greenhouse effect. Key text. September 13, 2000: http://www.science.org.au/nova/016/016key.htm
The major causes of the Enhanced Greenhouse Effect are caused by the burning of gasoline in cars which has high levels of carbon dioxide in the exhaust, chemicals that are burnt by factories and released by the huge smoke stacks releasing smoke seeable by miles away are also very high in carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. Although people are trying to make laws restricting the amounts of chemicals released in the air, there is still a dangerous amount being released. CFC's which are causing Ozone Depletion, are found in everyday products such as refrigerators and spray propellants. Although CFC's are being more and more reduced and restricted in products, they are still in a lot of things that people use everyda
