Tori Amos
Tori Amos. Just the mention of her name sends my mind back to that heavenly night onDecember 2, 1998. Seeing this piano goddess in concert showed me how wonderful and grand one woman can be and convinced me that I could do anything. I remember when I first heard the announcement on the radio. Her latest single, "Spark", floated to my ears over my brother's senseless chatter. I immeaditilly told him to stop and twirled the volume knob to the notch. I grabbed my geometry paper and scribbled down the date, cost, etc. As soon as I got home, I changed my clothes and met up with Erin Gendron, the girl who introduced me to Tori's really deep thoughts. She and I started a "bliss trip" that was better as lasted longer than any drug known to man. We bought our tickets and incorporated anything Tori Amos into our everyday lives and everyone else we met. Our planners were outdone in gold and silver pens with song lyrics and quotes from any interview. We spent hours discussing her albums and songs. Tori Amos has never written a song without any metaphors or hidden meanings. Exchanging websites and email became a common event ( I received over 150 newsletters, etc. in 1 month). The big day finally arrived. That day, I could h

We were six rows and we could see the Baz ( the only piano she'll play). We watched her backup come out and start to play the beginning notes of "Precious Things". stood in the cold until 7:00. It was worth the wait. We met other girls who agreed with Tori's Good Year." It was just her and the Baz, ending the show. It moved me to tears for the second hours of sleep combined. We barely made out the door in order to catch our ride. the crowd wanted one thing, TORI!! We waited for another hour for her to appear. Her from the stage and I saw her sing like no one had ever before. ceremony of stringing up of her jester puppet was done and we felt the time was near.
