Z for Zach
Even though the Bible and Z For Zachariah are books that a very different you can still relate than to each other. You can relate Ann from Z For Zachariah and the real Zachariah from the Bible. In the Bible, Zachariah tells how the Lord gave him eight meaningful visions to help the people overcome their problems. You can relate this to Ann and how she had visions of helping people read and write as a school teacher of the new world. If you compare the two books you can also see a relationship between the safe suit and the Lord. It says in the Bible that the Lord gave Zachariah messages about a time far in the future. The message was, "Jerusalem and Judah will be attacked by all nations. Many of the people of Judah would be killed, but the Lord himself will appear and recuse the people." If you relate the safe suit and the Lord you can see that they both played a role in the stories as being a life saver. Jerusalem was attacked and destroyed in 507 B.C. They had to star!t all over with their society, this is like Ann and Mr. Loomis. They had to start all over with life itself and think about having children to keep the human species alive. Or you could look at the perspective of how Z stands for Zachariah, the last man
Chapter 20 - It's not cool for Mr. Loomis to use that poor ole' dog to hunt down Ann. If I were her I have to shoot the dog, even though I wouldn't want to it might be the only way to stay alive. I wouldn't have made that plan with him. She doesn't like the thought, never to have any job. If someone gets sick, and you didn't have a way to treat them properly with medicines, antibiotics, ect...they could die. That's why I would also want to have a first aid kit. Without a first aid kit someone could die from the simplest things. They could die from bites, scratches, or even swimming in radioactive water. A first aid kit is something you should always have around the house for emergencies or just in case. Chapter 26 - Ha. Now we see the soft side of Mr. Loomis. He is going to cry, what a wuss. I am really surprised that Mr. Loomis told her that he saw birds to the west. It seems like he didn't care about her at all and just wanted for her to be her slave. on earth. In the book the phrase "Z for Zachariah" was only used once but has a very important role in the book. When she was little she had an alphabet book which started out A for Adam and Z for Zachariah. She thought that since Adam was the first person in the book, Zachariah would be the last. In a sense she could be Zachariah, or the last person on earth. Chapter 4 - I'm surprised he didn't try to shoot the dog. He was shooting everything else. It seems like he wouldn't have drunk any of the water if he was a scientist and he had been checking water for over a year now. Chapter 3 - It seems like she would call back at him. I would if I though I was the only person left. I would be afraid they would leave since they thought no one was there.
