Evolution "The origin of organisms"
Please E-mail me if you use this or have any questions or comments. Themacman2002@yahoo.com The word God has no place in science. Due to the fact that everything in science has some kind of explanation, which is factual. Which in turns brings up the question of how everything came to be as it is today. Ignoring the creation of the space, stars, and planets, the question is how did life on this planet come to be, and has it changed. The answer to this question is that all life started as single cell organisms. And that over time these cells evolved. All modern day scientists believe in evolution, because it is a fact. The term theory is no longer appropriate when referring to evolution, because evolution is a fact. There is evidence to support this as well. Scientists have gone out and found fossils of the same animals and can see how they have changed over time. There is no contradiction to this. Evolution is a crystal clear fact. But the mechanisms that bring evolution about still need clarification, and are not proven. To begin further discussion a clear definition is needed for evolution. Evolution is the theory that species change over time. But this definition is not accurate, and ye
Evolution is important to the survival of everything. If an organism cannot adapt to it's environment then it dies. When an organism adapts to its habit fairly well, it improves upon itself. For instance I will sight an example from my textbook. A family of birds in Hawaii is commonly called the Hawaiian honeycreepers; there are 23 species. These birds only live in Hawaii and all have similarities in skeletal and muscle structure, this indicates they are closely related. But yet each bird has a specialized beak for eating a certain kind of food. Each bird has made adaptations to improve its lifestyle. Another point is shown that these birds all have a common ancestry. Charles Darwin is the first man to receive widely acknowledged credit for evolution. This is because Darwin had a large amount of substantial proof for his explanations. But Darwin was not the first to write on evolution, Lamarck, Buffon, and even Darwin's grandfather Erasmus Darwin had studied evolution in great detail. Yet Darwin received the most credit, and he should, because he related his ideas to geology, botany, and biology, which helped validate his theories. There really is no fact to explain adaptation. Then again nothing is a fact, philosophically speaking. You can't prove anything, even your own existence, due to
