CHILDREN AND VIOLENCE

DONNIE GRIMMETT 07 FEB 2001

As parents, we are to blame for much of our children's violence. We can not shut games, movies, and television out of their lives, but we can ensure that they understand from an early age that many forms of violence can not be undone. DEATH IS A FINAL ACT. What we can do is monitor our children, talk to them and educate them about what they see and hear. We must from an early age prepare our children for entry into this cruel world so as to make it a better world. When children see death on television we must show them that this is not real life and that these actors and actresses return to the screen sometimes in the next movie. In fact isolating our children is as bad as letting them watch violent show without supervision. What we allow our children
