The first and probably the most important Amendment from The Bill of Rights clearly states that: Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech (World Book Encyclopedia). Since the beginning of time America has been seen as the land of opportunity, the sole reason why many people immigrated here from all over the world is that it was a place of freedom, free from persecutions and unjust rulings. Being able to express our selves without the fear of persecution is a beautiful thing, a thing that our forefathers invented to make America a free country, exactly what it is today. So what is the problem one may ask? We live in a country that grants us with free speech; however, we still complain and are not satisfied. The main problem with the freedom of speech is that it is limit less; many scholars feel that speech should not be completely free. This is easily seen through basic human behavior, when parents forbid their kids to do a specific thing they still do it not because they necessarily have to but just for the rebellion part of it. I remember when my mother first heard me use the F... word, when she strictly forbid its use, that word would be the only thing coming out of my mouth for the next couple of weeks.
