Many question the legal rights of women. The answer to this question is multi-faceted. If the Declaration of Independence concerned the freedom, equality, justice, and prosperity of all people, that also means that women should be entitled to these rights. Women finally decided to take action and started the suffrage campaign that took 72 ceaseless years and the concerted efforts of thousands of women. In 1920, women finally won the most basic right in any democracy, the right to vote. Bit by bit women have worked their way to the top. However, women still experience many injustices.
