Buying a Fixer upper

A detailed Summary of Buying a Fixer upper

I will always remember my first house. It was defiantly a "fixer-upper". I remember the first time we set foot in our home. We walked up to the back door and there was an old fashion type wooden door. All the paint was peeling off of it, and the windows were foggy because the glass was always in the sunlight. We walked in the house and it felt like we were in the Brady Bunch Home. All the Walls were the ugly Green and the carpet looked like someone had thrown up all over the place but that was how it was suppose to look. We walked into the Dining room and we saw the Large Radiator on the wall. We couldn't believe how big and ugly the radiators were, they were definitely going to get ripped out. Then we looked through the rest of the house and found all the other rooms were all the same, but the house was in very good condition so we decided to use some elbow grease and fix it up ourselves.

We started with the walls. They all needed painting so we painted each and every one. We started with the kitchen and ended with the living room. By the time we got to the living room there was so much humidity in the house, the paint literally ran off the walls and onto the floor. We couldn't believe it.

We moved in and took a break from renovations for a while, but when summer came it all started again. We painted the whole house and the garage, did some landscaping around the house and around the garage, and built a deck on the back of the house so we could enjoy the outside.

We never regretted buying the home that we did because of all the work that we had to do, we love to do it and it keeps us busy. We still have a lot of plans for the house. We want to raise the roof and add a second floor, finish off the basement, and some day put vinyl siding on the house. I guess that a lot of work and a lot of sweat are expected when you buy a "Fixer-Upper".

ter of hooking the pipes up and soldering them together. Once we had all the pipes soldered we proceeded to fill the boiler with water then we started it up. The new boiler was so quiet compared to the old one we had before and it would be much more efficient.
