It's November and wrestling season has come around as it always does at this time. Ben talks about what they are doing the day before they start their first official practice. He is riding in the car with his best friends Al, Digit, and Hatcher. The way it breaks down is Ben is 135lbs. and so is Al. Digit and Hatcher are up one weight class and below him one weight class. Ben has always been second best to Al since the seventh grade. Tonight was the last football game and the boys didn't go, instead they drove out of town to get doughnuts and relax. They were quiet for the majority of the trip. Most people in the town worked in the cinder factory, including Ben's dad. Sturbridge is where the boys live; it is a small city in Pennsylvania.

I believe that Ben is the one telling the story. I think Hatcher, Al, and Digit are his three best friends that he has wrestled with for a while. I think Ben will have a tuff time this year because Al is in his weight class and is a much better wrestler. Ben is worried about the upcoming season.
