I believe the reason people would not want to come out of the cave is because they feel comfortable where he or she may be at right now in his or her life. He or she may not necessarily like what he or she may be doing, however at the same time he or she is comfortable and knows what has to get done. By coming out of the cave you have now forced yourself to step out of the familiar and into the unfamiliar. This is a step most people are not willing to take. People would rather do something that is comfortable and disliked than try something new that has a possibility of becoming one of his or her favorites. All due to the fact that people do not like trying new things.
