Religion has been an integral part of human culture for thousands of years. Only a few religions have dominated people's ideals and actions. The other smaller indigenous religions have been devalued over the years. Religion affects all aspects of today's society including politics and economics. Worldly religion has been viewed as secondary to the military and the economy. Tradition and customs have been an ongoing characteristic of religion in eastern societies. Whereas, secularism arose in the West and took control. This secularism was nonconformity, unorthodox approach much different than that of the traditional eastern societies. When this secularism arose in the west it meant, that the west had become more modernized. In religion there are four subdivisions which control the way an individual views other religions. These four branches include exclusivism, inclusivism, synchrotism and pluralism. The books we have utilized and focused upon seem to direct themsel!ves towards the exclusivism approach. Weber, Huntington, Rudolph, and Piscatori have shown the use of empirical evidence to control and define their theses of religious capitalism. Other major theorists such as Tyler
