In the fall of 1963 Kennedy began to plan his strategy for reelections. He flew across the country extolling the improvements in U.S. Soviet relations. On November 22, at 12:30 p.m. while riding in an open limousine shots rang out. One bullet passed through the neck and the second fatal bullet tore away the right side of the back of his head. Kennedy was rushed to Parkland memorial Hospital where efforts to revive him failed. John F. Kennedy was announced dead at 1:00pm. Chief Justice Earl Warren concluded that a man named Lee Oswald, a former U.S. marine, shot President Kennedy. After shooting Kennedy he fled to a theatre and denied shooting Kennedy. Once Oswald was captured the mob hired Jack Ruby to kill him. Ruby shot Oswlad at point blank range.
