In the End Happiness will win

"We work to become, not to acquire" is a quote that holds very true. There are many people who might disagree with this, but their lives will never be as complete and fulfilling as they could be. Reasons people might feel they should work include money, possessions, and power. All of these acquired things will get a person nothing, deep down in the end.

Take a medical doctor, for example. There are two kinds of doctors. One kind of doctor spends years as a student working very hard to become someone that can help people that he genuinely cares about and devotes his time to. And then there's the doctor who went to medical school because it was the highest paying career he could think of. This doctor can't wait to get out of school, not because he wants to jump in and start helping people, but because he wants the money that he worked so hard to acquire. He gets up every morning miserable because he has to spend another long day pretending to be genuine and pretending he cares. What happens when he's so worried about getting out of the office for a break that he doesn't take his time and misdiagnoses a serious problem? Should the patien


d to teach him to ride it, is there? What good will it do to him to send his daughter to that expensive dance class if he can't be at her first recital? To find true happiness he must ask himself such questions and realize that no amount of money will buy him these life experiences.
