In the rock it is a very powerful and shows a lot of the different types of leaderships style that we had talked about in the past. With the military mercenary group in my opinion yes there is a commander General Hummel but what I noticed as I was watching the movie was that all of them respected and followed his orders but when it came to getting down there was a change. Goodspeed also uses his positional role by his FBI training and his education but he also uses the personal role when he is looking out to defuse the deadly gases to save millions of lives and of course his pregnant fiance and the hostages on the island of Alcatraz. So this mission becomes very personal to Goodspeed.

Stanley Goodspeed is a commander, avoider, pleaser and achiever. In the movie he shows the commander style by in some scenes having control of what he is doing. When he is dealing with the deadly gas things need to go right or everyone is dead and he shows that you do it the way I say now or we all are dead. The avoider comes out because he has never been in combat and doesn't want to be in that situation. He is scared. Yes he an achiever 100% of the way. He is very self confident in what he does and wants to fix the problem he is set out to do and is open to any suggestion that are brought to him.
