Animal Farm
Back in the early 1920's a revolution occurred in Russia. A new government was formed and a new ruler took order. Russia was no longer Russia but now the Soviet Union. The Czar ruler was overthrown and communism was the new government. In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell the animals on Manor Farm revolted, in this same manner. When a country has extreme social, economical and political problems a change in government is made. That is exactly what the animals did. Their new form of government was Animalism. A man owned Manor Farm by the name of Mr. Jones. He didn't pay much attention to his farm and rarely fed the animals. On a quiet Sunday one of the pigs came up with the idea to revolt. A lot of the animals were cautious at first but eventually they all liked the idea. Jones was overthrow and Animalism was created. One reason why I like the book so much was because I had something to relate it too. The whole time I was reading, I could actually picture some Russian events happen. I also liked how the author used animals to illustrate the Russian Revolution. At first it seemed a little far-fetched but then I understood what the author was trying to convey. Once I read the book the whole revolution came to me. I could actually understand how some of the people were feeling. As a reader I think I have grown tremendously. Normally reading would be a big drag but now it is not that bad. Sometimes I actually enjoy reading. Reading takes you away from the real world; it's a short relief to any problems. I no longer have to read lines over a second time to understand and I'm beginning to see certain events actually happen in my head. The animals were representing what happens to humans, as they become powerful. In the beginning the pigs and dogs wanted absolutely nothing to do with humans, they even had a saying that said "Two legs bad, Four legs good". By the end of the book, the pigs were acting just like the humans. "Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question,
