infant attachment
A detailed Summary of infant attachment
Throughout the course of this essay I am going to talk about infant attachment. Infants need a lot of attention and it takes a lot to gain their trust. The first few months of an infant's life are the most critical. If the infant does not feel comfortable then it maybe very difficult for the child to attach itself to the parent.
Children who are born to their mothers and are not adopted or lose their mothers at an early age have spent nine months adjusting to her rhythms, sounds, and smells. Adoptive parents must work harder to develop a relationship with their baby, as they do not have the benefit of the first nine months carrying the baby. Once the baby is born and held in the mother's arms immediately it establishes a comfort zone. The comfort zone is the distance the infant can travel from its parents without feeling threatened by its surroundings. The comfort zone comes into play many times, as the infant grows older.
While bonding has been useful, it can also sometimes be misleading. It sometimes implies that when parents did not have the opportunities for early skin-to-skin contact they could never bond with that child as well as a non-adopted child. It is also said that it could leave that

Stranger anxiety shows the strength the strength of the infant's attachment to the parents. The next stage that is said to occur is the separation stage. It usually begins at nine to ten months; peeks at twelve to fifteen months and it can even go all he way through until twenty four to thirty six months. Separation anxiety is merely the child's growing awareness of separateness from its parent.
child with a permanent health problem. The bonding concept also is misleading in that it says very early experiences are most important to the infant. The time after birth is often, though not always, a magic moment for parents. After all, infants commonly are awake and alert at this time. However, there is no reason to b
