Siddhartha was a Brahmin's son who had a lot going for him, with riches and health. He saw the Samanas one-day and decided that he should join them. "Nirvana is not only a word, my friend, it is a thought." Through his life, he went through many changes and lessons. He learned love, gambling and not caring. He changed his life style with the people that he met and the type of things that he was doing at the time. Such as when he met Kamala, he changed appearance so that she would talk to him. By the end of all his learning and teaching he reached goal, pure peace. Anything that you said or did would be anot

her lesson to him, not trouble or anything in that matter, another teaching, He is what we call Buddha, the enlightened one. Siddhartha was the founder of a religion that has 324,000,000 followers worldwide; !

Siddhartha and Gandhi were both from different time periods, yet they were alike in many ways. They both gave up the rich life that they would have had, fasted, did things in a peaceful way to learn and reach their goal. Siddhartha gave up his riches to go live and from the Samanas, Gandhi gave up riches to be like the people of India. Most of India was and still is in poverty. By him, giving up his riches and dressing like them he felt that he would fit in more and the people of India would listen to him if he were one of them. Most of what they did that were the same were for different reasons. Though they never got to see the what they have done for the world today, people will always be grateful for what these men have done or taught them.
