It was a Monday afternoon, a man was walking through the long hallways of the high school his son was attending. The man was on his way to speak to the principal about some trouble his son was involved in. As the man was walking past classrooms he heard televisions and radios on. The kids were being loud and obnoxious and the teacher was no where to be found. The man kept walking as he glanced from classroom to classroom he noticed that some students were yelling at their teachers telling them what they don't wan to do. I agree with the proposals of Neil Postman, and Ernest van den Haag because education in today's schools lack morals and values due to poor teaching methods. I have analyzed both of their statements and they both agree with two distinct problems in schools: Entertainment should not be used as a teaching method, and there is disorder in the classroom.
In conclusion I found out that many problems would be eliminated through the proposals stated by Neil Postman and Ernest van den Haag. The problems eliminated from disorder would bring more learning time in the class, less suspended and expelled students, and keep students who want to learn in the class. Thus making a better learning environment for students. The benefits from no entertainment in the classes would be better quality teachers, more time causing them to expand their minds.
