A detailed Summary of Beat Generation
During my studies of History at Saint Vincent College I have learned that a generation can be defined by its works of art and can be used to help explain questions not so easily answered by looking inside of historical textbooks. The one question that I intend to answer using forms of art such as, literature, poetry, and music is: What caused the 1960's to become a defiant and revolutionary time in America? In order to answer this question I have begun looking at the art works of the late 1940's and 1950's, from artists such as Jack Kerou
