The conflict in this novel is very crucial to the conclusion of the plot. This story takes place in a community of rules and conformity. The Giver and the Receiver are the chosen ones to hold the memories of the "outside world." Through these memories the Giver and the Receiver realize that the community that they live in is not the ideal place to live. They decide to make a plan
