The paradisaical environment surrounding Jane added to the presence of Mr. Rochester, makes Jane experience different emotions while hiding to observe Mr. Rochester. It is a daydreaming experience for Jane who wants and at the same time does not want to be seen by Mr. Rochester who simultaneously is finding any emotional excuse to produce the encounter in the gardens.
