As a coach I would have strong feeling and believes as to when I playing. So practice would be mandatary for everyone. Every player, coach or parents in the organations will be treated the same. There would be a no cut policy so kids can particapate in sports. Every player would have to wear the same uniforms because things should be the same. There would be mandatary meetings I would have to let parents know how things are going with there kids. During the summer I would find numerous track camps to send kids to give exsposure and improve techques from some of the best. My office would be open to any athlete needed to talk. My high school coaches run there programs in that manner and that a fine way to run things. Fair coaches is the best coaches and that's who gets the most out of there kids. That's the way I think things should be run.
In Season-While track season is still in session it's very important to come up with a program that benefits the athlete in the weight room, but making sure the workouts don't hurt the athletes flexibility and ability to perform. I read a little on lactate threshold training methods but am not familiar at all with the method. It has a lot to do with tempo running and threshold intervals. Steady runs of 15 to 25 minutes is said to be enough but I'll probably go 10 to 15 minutes just because I'm unsure of the affect of threshold training. Threshold training is mostly for distance running because the tempo never changes. Out of season- try workout that is fun and interesting to athletes, I mean maybe so competitive workout when lifting is fun. Anything you do there should be fun involved. Pending workouts should increase repetition, stretches, etc.
