Running, Running, Running, through the desolate woods not knowing where I am going or what I am going to find ahead of me. Voices of angry men penetrate my ears, they sound like a pact of hungry wolves on the kill never stopping until they have gotten what they wanted...fresh meat. Mother had always told me not to wander off at night in fear of the men in white robes. But now I was running for my life; running from the wolves that want nothing but to see me die. Trees fly by me as I try and escape the hands of the grim reaper. My feet ache with pain as sticks and rocks penetrate my bare feet. The cries of the wolves seem to be getting closer not knowing how long till I come to eternal rest.
The world seems to be getting darker and the hope of escaping dimming. The shadows play tricks on my eyes and the monsters of the forest come out to play. Knowing that the wolves were closing I search for and come across an enormous bush to camouflage myself like a solider at war hiding from the enemy. Tears flow from my eyes on to the cold earth and sharp prickers pierce me in the back and I feel warm blood run down my skin. All in a moments time the whole forest goes silent as a wolf stands over me. My heart stops and it feels like my lif
I make it out of the woods and finally onto my lawn where I collapse. My father comes running out and I hear him calling my name but I'm unable to answer I try but my voice sounds like a death rattle. His image and the night sky become very blurry and I finally pass out. I wake the next morning and all I could think about was the wolves, the cross and the hanged man. I never talked about what happened that night but I thought about it all the time. It was something that was going to haunt me for the rest of my life and the world as I know it will never be the same.
With every step on the ground the sound of my heart beats louder and louder in my ears. My head feels 20lbs heavier and I just want to faint and wake up in my bed in the morning and realize that it was all just a bad dream. But as I trip on a large nodulose I fall face first on the cold hard ground. I lie there looking up at the sky wondering if this will be the holy resting-place for this soldier.
