In this world there are evils and there are innocents. In the novel The Great Gatsby it shows the evils in society and how a single person that was once was sweet and innocent can be turned into one of those evils. Daisy is that person and the one that knew her when she was innocent is Gatsby and the one that turned to the evils of society is her husband Tom.
In The Great Gatsby Daisy and Tom are a wealthy couple that live for the thrill in life and it doesn't matter to them what or who they hurt. It starts when Daisy starts thinking about her marriage to Tom and how she thinks he is cheating on her. Which her suspicions are true because Tom is seeing another woman, one who lives in the Valley of Ashes. When Nick goes to a party at his neighbor's house, Gatsby, and then tells Daisy of his being there, she starts to go see him and meet with him in places, and she invites
him over to lunch, and when Tom leaves the room, she kisses him.
When Gatsby and Daisy first meet, Daisy was from a wealthy family and Gatsby was a poor man, but he thought that Daisy was different than any other of the rich girls. She was kind and gentle compared to the others that are wealthy who are mean and conceited to others and have no feeling for those who are not as fortunate as they are. Daisy was different even though her parents did not consent to their being together. Gatsby went off to war and left his love behind. Near the end of his service Daisy wrote him a letter that she could no longer wait for him and that she was getting married.
