Scott Hamilton
Scott Scovell Hamilton is a fighter. Adopted at the age of six weeks, Scott has overcome huge obstacles to get to where he is now. Scot has achieved the highest awards that a figure skater could earn. When Scott was two years old, he contracted an unidentifiable disease that caused him to stop growing. Scott was mistakenly diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and his parents too him to Boston Children’s Hospital for treatment. After several years and many unsuccessful diagnoses and treatments, doctors concluded that Hamilton suffered from Schwachmann’s Syndrome, which interferes with your digestive system. After being put onto a special diet and exercise program, his health improved dramatically. In 1994, Scott’s adoptive father, Ernie died. Scott’s mother died of breast cancer in 1977.
