Why did the British and French bring the Israelis into the Suez Crisis?
During 1956 Nasser Gamal, the great people's leader of Egypt plan for improving living standards in Egypt by constructing the Aswan dam. This plan was rejected by the US led World Bank because it breached their own interest in the area. Therefore, president Nasser took the Suez Canal from the Anglo-French company to fund for this great project. The nationalization of the Suez Canal by the Egyptian government in 1956 symbolized the up lifting of the facade to nearly a century of western oppression, humiliation, extortion and exploitation in the land of the Great Pyramids.

On the afternoon of October 30, in London, the British government handed an ultimatum to the representatives of both Israel and Egypt. They were to withdraw their forces back from the canal to a depth of at least 16km. As Egypt was then in full occupation of the canal, and Israeli forces were at least 50km from it, the ultimatum was, as intended, an order to Egypt to leave the canal. Egypt rejected the ultimatum at once. Israel made no reply.
