Refuting Evolution
Many factors contribute to the idea of gradual speciation, but all fall under the same theory of evolution. Webster defines evolution as "the theory that groups of organisms change drastically and smoothly with passage of time, mainly as a result of natural selection or chance, so that descendants differ morphologically and physiologically from their ancestors". With regard to the theory, one must consider the facts that are certain to refute the concept. Disproving the theory of Evolution has nothing to do with the validity of creationism (a god created the earth) or the Bible, but rests solely on the authenticity of the evidence the theory puts forth. To understand evolution, a non-believer must outline what he/she would expect from the theory, listen to the evidence, then offer an explanation of why sufficient evidence is not produced and try to interpret why believers stay with the theory. In order to convince one of the validity of the theory, the listener must know what to expect for the theory to "be true". Evolution violates what we as people think about the world. Naturally, such things as carcasses, chemical bonds, and sewing seams break down over periods of time. The difficulty comes, however, when one is to t
Scientists continue to find evidence in the fossils that evolution has occurred for humans and animals alike. Their main support concerning the theory is the appearance of trends from ancestors. However, for these trends to be genuine for the theory, they must be smooth. Very little fluid trends have been found that connect ancient animals with modern ones. Jones, Stephen E. "Creation/Evolution Quotes." Internet. http://members.iinet.net.au/~sejones/cequotes.html. 27 February, 2001. Another more strongly supported record is the famous "horse case". A fossil of a horse was found to be 61 cm tall with sharp teeth and multiple toes. Could this information be a different horse that was not able to survive? George Simpson, avid evolutionist, denies that the horse is sufficient to prove the theory. These horse fossils were not found in the lower strata of the earth, but near the fossils of modern horses. Could this indicate that carbon dating is inaccurate? So what's the explanation of the odd traits of the horse? A horse called the Protohippus lives in Africa and has the multiple toes that are seen on the Hyracotherium. Another modern horse exemplifying its traits is the Fallabella, which only grows to be 42.5 cm. Even if the strata were different, there are no intermediate fossils that suggest the evolving process was smooth. (Eden, "Evolution of the Horse") Good evidence is present in many places that suggest an evolutionary trend is seen. There have been many cases in which adaptations coinciding with natural selection appear such as the Galapagos Finch and the Hyracotherium. Scientists have been digging up fossils for years, finding great examples of comparative anatomy. (The similarities that are seen in design structures of animals that are said to be from the same ancestors) Darwin himself said that this is enough data to prove the theory true. Another strong argument is the small-scale evolution. (Changes that occur to small parts of an organism such as insects growing immune to pesticides) These changes are scientific fact and cannot in any way be argued against. If one doesn't believe in evolution, he/she ought to now. A third example that leans toward the validity of the theory are fossil records. The fossils show a trend in animal fossils that explains evolutionary origin of species. (Hunter) Another important question is asked.
