A detailed Summary of homosexuality
Homosexuality is a topic that many people refuse to talk about because of personal prejudice or, they chose to simply forget about the existence of such individuals. However, there are those individuals who openly support these individuals, as well as there are those who are disgusted by the thought of two human beings of the same sex being involved emotionally and psychically. People often overreact to the news of an acquaintance, friend, or family member coming out of the closet with negative thoughts and comments. Let us take a look at the lifestyle of homosexuals, hate crimes committed against them, and active legislation in which homosexuals are involved to better accommodate their lifestyles.
Lifestyle by definition is the way that an individual and or a group of individuals decide to carry out their lives. Some individuals come to a conscious agreement to spend the rest of their lives in each other's company by the union of marriage. But what happens when these individuals are both members of the same sex? Robert Knight is well known among the homosexual population in El Paso. He is the head of the LAMBDA chapter in this city. ite sex. People have many misconceptions about the homosexual lifestyle, some being that homosexuals are all dancers, fashion designers, and wealthy. Of course this is not all true. Yes, there are gay dancers, designers, and wealthy gay individuals. However, there are also gay doctors, lawyers, and public figures. Individuals in a homosexual marriage face the same problems that a heterosexual marriage faces. Some of those being; lack of money, disagreements and, yes, even infidelity. The only differences that there are, is the fact that both individuals involved are members of the same gender, and that homosexual marriages are not valid." Knight also stated, "These misconceptions can possibly be promoted by the entertainment industry, which!
The reality of homosexuality is hard and crude due to the style of visualization of society. There are many crimes committed against the homosexual community because of their sexual preference. Perhaps one of the most disturbing and most remembered hate crimes against the homosexual community would be the murder of Matthew Shepard. Matthew was a twenty one year old student at the University of Wyoming. One night after having a few drinks at a college bar, he left in the company of two individuals who claimed to be gay and showed an interest in him. However, they were not homosexuals. Both individuals had an unexplained hatred towards homosexuals. These two individuals took Mathew to a remote part of the area, where they tied him to a rough-hewn fence and beat him severely to the point of unconsciousness. A man who drove along the road and mistook his body for that of a scarecrow's found Matthew in the early morning.
