Bass river shelia mant

In these two stories they both wanted something really bad that they couldn't get. How ever in both of these stories they went through great lengths to try to achieve their goals. Some times in life people are deceived as to what their goals and feelings really are. In the stories "Boys & Girls" and "The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant" the author used resolution, conflict and narration to show the importance of being true to your self.

"The Bass, The River, & Shelia Mant" took place in the summer on the Bay of the lake. He is an ordinary 14-year-old boy who loves to fish, largemouth bass is his favorite he likes more than anything. Anything as in except for Shelia Mant he said "There was a summer in my life when the only creature that seemed lovelier to me than a largemouth bass was Shelia Mant", Shelia Mant was the middle daughter at 17 years, a perfect ten in looks, and had his heart in her back pocket. When the boy finally got his chance he took her in his canoe to a folk concert. On the way to the concert in the water there was largemouth bass flipping around and Shelia said, "I think fishing is dumb, I mean boring and all definitely dumb." Right then and there she had sat down. Coincidentally he snagged a fish,

against the thing he loved most and turned into an external conflict for he cut the line. In the end he ended up getting hurt for pretending to be what he was not. For not only did he lose his fish, he lost Shelia Mant. Shelia rode home in a corvette, she made him feel 3 feet tall and she revealed her true color, which was dark and cold as night. Not only was it just a ride home with somebody with a car but it was a corvette which made him feel really low for all he has is his little canoe and his fishing rod.

These two stories were told in the 1st person so you can get the total effect of what that main character is thinking and his true emotions. Through the first person you can find what is really behind the scenes for you don't just see the actions but thought and logic behind them. The only down side to the first person however is that the story is one sided, for you don't know what Shelia Mant was thinking or any body else but him. The author gets these two stories across to the readers by building on emotions and important details of people and surroundings.

In the two stories "The Bass, The River, and Shelia Mant" and "Boys and Girls" the author expressed being loyal to your inner self by the authors use of internal conflicts. The internal conflict in "The Bass, The River, and Shelia Mant" involved a teenage boy to go against the thing he loved most and
