A detailed Summary of Parenting Styles


When I originally, read the chapter in the text, after hearing the lecture in class, I got the impression that parenting styles were clean cut and easily defined. Unfortunately, like many other terms and theories in psychology, patenting style is a fuzzy concept. When I found the article and began to read the brief, but informative real life experiences of a few very different parents, I realized how impossible it is for any parent to fit in a neat little parenting style box.

In the text, the description of the different parenting styles is described in such a way, that one would think that each parent fits one and only one of the parenting styles. I r
